Tempo was developed to help people maintain meaningful relationships despite the demands of daily life. Without a system in place, it is easy for weeks to become months, and for contact with important friends to lapse unintentionally.
Tempo allows you to set a personalized contact schedule for each friend, log interactions such as messages, calls, or visits, and monitor the health of each relationship through a score that reflects consistency of contact over time.

Is my data private?
Yes. All information entered into Tempo is encrypted and stored locally on your device. Tempo does not operate servers that collect or access user information. Refer to the full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I back up my data?
Backups may be enabled from the Settings screen within Tempo by turning on iCloud Backup, which syncs data automatically through your personal iCloud account. A manual backup file may also be exported from the same screen at any time.
I'm not getting reminders. What should I check?
Please verify that notifications are enabled for Tempo within your device's Settings application. Additionally, confirm within Tempo's own Settings tab that the relevant reminder type (check-ins, digest, birthdays) is enabled, and that Quiet Hours is not currently active.
Can I change how often Tempo reminds me about a friend?
Yes. Open any friend's profile, select the menu icon, and adjust the check-in frequency for messaging, calling, or seeing them. Each setting may be configured independently.
How do relationship health scores work?
After a friend has been added for at least one week, Tempo calculates a health score based on the consistency of contact relative to the schedule you have set. This score is intended as a general indicator rather than a definitive assessment.

By downloading, installing, or using Tempo, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Tempo is designed to operate entirely on your device. Information you enter, including friend names, phone numbers, notes, milestones, plans, and contact frequency, is stored locally in an encrypted format. This information is not accessible to Tempo, as it does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to create a backup.
If you choose to import a friend from your device's Contacts, Tempo reads that contact's name, phone number, email, and photo (if available) locally, to fill in their profile. This information is copied into Tempo's own local storage and is never transmitted anywhere. You can decline Contacts access entirely and add friends manually instead.
Tempo schedules reminders (check in nudges, birthdays, daily digests) locally on your device using Apple's notification system. These are generated and delivered entirely on device, and no reminder content is sent to any external server to be scheduled or delivered.
Tempo offers an optional backup feature. If you turn on iCloud Backup, your encrypted Tempo data is stored in your personal iCloud account, which is operated by Apple and governed by Apple's own privacy policy. We don't operate this storage and don't have access to it. You can also manually export a backup file at any time and store or share it however you choose.
Because Tempo does not store information on any server, no separate deletion request process is required. Users retain full control of their data at all times. Delete individual friends, groups, or entries at any time from within the app, use "Reset Everything" in Settings to erase all local data at once, or simply delete the app to remove everything, including any local backup files you haven't separately saved elsewhere. If you've turned on iCloud Backup, removing that backup from your iCloud account is managed through your device's iCloud settings, not through Tempo.
Tempo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't collect information from children, or from anyone at all, regardless of age.
If this policy is updated, the date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. As Tempo's data handling is fundamentally local in nature, such changes are not anticipated to occur frequently.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tempo (the "App"), published by David Tractenberg ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's standard usage rules.
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law. You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the App.
Information you enter into the App, such as friend names, notes, and plans, remains yours. As described in the Privacy Policy, this information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or accessed by us.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
